---BEFORE
The customer's backyard was uneven, sloping, soggy, and
underutilized.Tree roots grew above the ground. His very small concrete
patio was one step down from his back door. He called several
contractors for ideas and quotes. I reviewed his plans and suggested
changes to maximize the space. My price was competitive and affordable.
I got the job. We proceeded with the project.
---AFTER
The deck is built under the door sill, eliminating the step down.
Instead of nails, high-quality screws are used to secure the decking.
The deck is trimmed around the edges for a finished look. Slight
improvements and alterations were made in the project as work was
underway. The customer’s yard was transformed into an attractive,
functioning, year-round space for relaxing and entertaining.
---FROM CLIENT TESTIMONIAL
“Hi, Davis. Again, my sincere thanks for the deck. It is beyond my
expectations. The quality of your workmanship is off the charts. I have
enclosed the final payment as we discussed. One other thing…the
backside of my house is rather boring…can you spice it up?”
Best of regards, S.U.
---P.S.
The customer was so happy with the deck that he asked me to spice up the back of his house with window trim. |

| The
deck changes levels to follow the slope of the ground. Working with a
landscape architect, I built this saddle-colored TREX deck for an area
just 20-feet deep. The railing is clear cedar, stained natural, with a
TREX top cap. The clear cedar was stained natural to match the
composite decking. The movable TREX benches are functional and
fashionable. |

Made
with clear cedar, pre-stained to retain the natural color. It has
diagonal bamboo grid panels and full-length bamboo and cedar verticals.
The trellis shades the back of the house. The screen provides privacy
from neighbors. |

This
deck, built in 1995, is Philippine mahogany, pre-stained, then screwed
down. The railing is pre-stained cedar. It has a mahogany top cap. |

| This
12-by-16 foot gray TREX deck is built over a steep, muddy slope. The
deck and concrete patio created a large outdoor living area. The deck
is at the door's sill height. It’s one long step down to the patio. The
step can be used for plants, to sit on, etc. The deck railing is clear
cedar, stained gray, with a TREX top cap. |
